5 Advantages of Studying MBBS Abroad As An Indian Student

Like many students in India, learning MBBS is a dream. Parents, educators and prominent persons in Indian culture advocate learning either engineering or medicine from early childhood. If a household has two daughters, the odds are that one will be an engineer and one will be a doctor. This is the hope of most parents in India. Though engineering seats have risen significantly over the years, with MBBS, that's not the situation. With lesser MBBS seats and increasing demand for the field, many Indian students are opting to study MBBS abroad.

In this blog, we have listed five of the top advantages while Indian students should consider studying MBBS abroad.

1. No Donation or Capitation Fee

Apart from the annual charge, some private institutes in India have tremendous sums of contribution or capitation payments. For colleges or universities overseas, this is not the situation. There is no contribution or capitation fee for the bulk of the MBBS institutions in Georgia, for example.

2. No Entrance Test for Admission

Unlike India, in order to secure admittance to an MBBS college, no entry test is required. On the 12th norm and first-cum-first-serve basis, the entry would be solely dependent on your performance. For example, DTMU, a renowned medical university in Georgia offers admission to students who have passed higher secondary examination or its equivalent with 60% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology and 60% marks in English separately.

3. Extremely Low Cost of Living

This is the point where most parents and students stress and take a step back. Since the majority of foreign countries in which MBBS is studied are from Europe, the cost of living is comparatively cheap. Consider Georgia, for instance. It would be very inexpensive to study MBBS in Georgia for Indian students as most students will live with as little as $100 and $200 a month.

4. World Class Infrastructure

Most of the campuses abroad have world-class structures with new medical equipment, especially if you’re considered MBBS admission in Georgia. Hence, MBBS research in Georgia would be very beneficial since most of Georgia’s colleges are of high quality and WHO, UNESCO, European Council, etc. are internationally recognised.

5. International Exposure

Students will also get international experience when they want to study abroad in a foreign land and meet fellow classmates who are all from diverse cultures, backgrounds and race, which will significantly help them settle down.

These were five of the many benefits of studying overseas for MBBS. It also has its share of negatives, but the positives mostly outweigh the drawbacks. So realise your goal of being a doctor by travelling overseas and seeking MBBS admission in Georgia in a renowned medical university like DTMU.
