EB-5 Program Extension: Grab Your Chance Now!

EB – 5 visa, also known as the “Golden Visa” because of all the perks it has to offer to foreign investors. However, there is going to be dynamic shift in the visa with the draft EB-5 Reform Act.
To begin with, it is slated to increase the minimum investment amount from $500,000 to $925,000 for the set-aside projects in high unemployment areas. For non-set-aside projects, the increase is from $1,000,000 to $1,025,000. Apart from this, there are also certain anticipated changes from the current 10 full-time jobs per EB-5 petitioner to 12 full-time jobs. It will also lead to the implementation of broad regional center certification as well as background check measures. And this is just the tip of the iceberg.

The catch here is a deadline for the extension of the older version of the visa, which is on September 30th. There can also be certain regulations and legislation in the next few months that follow. Hence, foreign nationals who want to apply for getting a green card by investing in the USA, should hurry up and apply before that date.

This extension was almost a last minute add-on but not before giving the prospective immigrants a scare that the entire programme stood the chance of being scrapped off completely.

Why You Should Not Worry (Yet)?

The sharp increase in the threshold of investment may mar the plans of several investors, who were earlier making plans but hadn’t applied. However, if you already made your applications before the enactment of the new law, you’ll be able to go with the current investment thresholds. This will hold true even after the new law comes into effect.

Just make sure that you don’t keep waiting till the very end to lock in the investment. There is going to be a substantial rise in the number of applicants with the news spreading like wildfire. This, in turn, will accelerate the arrival of new waiting lists from potential investors from various countries.
Hence, you need to make an early move in order to increase your chance to land the best visa for foreign investors in the USA.

To Conclude

If you’re a high net worth individual who wants to settle in the USA, this is the chance you need to grab with both hands. Visit your nearest immigration consultants and start the application without any delay. Period.
